SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM GRAND TOWERS PLC

Abuja: 23rd December, 2014 – As the year winds down, the Management and Staff of Grand Towers Plc joined their Group Chairman- Nze Chidi Duru - at a company Luncheon organized to mark the end of the year and closing of the office.

In his remarks, Nze Duru, asserted that 2014 was a big year for the company; within the year, the company had seen the takeoff of one of its subsidiary companies, Callphone Ltd. The businesses of the company include the operation of the PTSP license and also the rolling out of significant value added services such as for Bills, DSTV, Electricity Payments, their Easypay, Padipaygate - Online Payment platform. He said that the group also in the course of the year established a subsidiary in South Africa, called Grand Towers Holding Pty, SA.

In Addition, the Group’s Hospitality division has progressed significantly with the development of Grand Towers Hotels in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State and Owerri, Imo State.

The group Chief Operating officer, Mr. Samuel Oboh whilst addressing staff thanked them for their services. He acknowledged the financial constraints that has been brought on by changes in Government Monetary policies, but assured that 2015 has a brighter future for the company.

The Executives wished staff and their families a safe holiday celebration and hopeful outlook for the New Year.

GRAND TOWERS ANNOUCES ROLLOUT FOR PAYMENT TERMINAL SERVICE PROVIDER (PTSP) CONCESSION

Abuja -11th June, 2014 – As part of efforts to support Nigeria’s move to adopt the nationwide use of electronic channels for cash transactions, Grand Towers have today announced arrangements to execute their PTSP offering by July.

In a media chat with Journalist in Abuja, the Managing Director, Grand Towers Holdings – South Africa, Mr. Udo Botha and Grand Towers Asset (Nigeria) MD – Mr Ugochukwu Duru outlined Grand Towers’ integrated strategy which centers on providing dedicated front end technical service solutions to the Market through multiple e-payment/mobile payment solutions. Mr Botha stressed that what is on offer are services which will be rendered using the best and robust IT solutions and equipments that are efficient, cost effective and user friendly.

Botha went on to highlight the integral part played by the collaboration with NIBSS and select commercial banks which they expect to provide support and maintenance services to, in addition to merchants using POS terminals devices.
All parties are confident about the intended roll out. Ugochukwu Duru explained that the total investment in the solution is about five million dollars; these systems are market ready and despite challenges that are reportedly associated with the POS systems, clients can be assured that what we have chosen will meet the needs of the Nigerian business market and will be supported by dedicated technical, administrative & training support & maintenance service.
 

GRAND TOWERS SIGNS DEFINITIVE AGREEMENT WITH WILLEMSEN HOSPITALITY LTD FOR ITS HOSPITALITY HOLDINGS
 

Abuja: 7th March, 2014 – Grand Towers Plc and Willemsen Hospitality Ltd have today concluded arrangements to manage its hospitality brand, Grand Towers Hotel. These agreements cover their Boutique Hotel offering in Owerri - Imo state and Ado Ekiti – Ekiti State.
Under the terms of the agreements, Grand Towers will retain Willemsen Hospitality to provide exclusive consult in positioning their hotels to continue to provide 5 star service and facilities. In addition, Willemsen Hospitality will create a property management structure which will be replicated by Grand Towers Hotels around the country.
Grand Towers opened its flagship hotel in Abuja in April 2013 with 32 rooms, inclusive of 2 Diplomatic suites and 1 Presidential suite. The Official signing ceremony for Grand Towers Hotel, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state held on Wednesday 12th February 2014, at Grand Towers Hotel Abuja. Grand Towers used the occasion to flag off another unique Hospitality product offering. The Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Governor Kayode Fayemi on Thursday 8 August 2013 visited the GrandTowers Hotel a 5 Star Boutique Hotel located in the heart of Abuja the Federal Capital Territory.. Nigeria: NOTAP approves GT technical partners Pact

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has approved a technology transfer agreement between Grand Tower Abuja Mall PLC and its technical partners. Director-General of NOTAP, Dr. Umar Bindir, gave the approval during a validation visit to the site of the mall preceeding registration of a technology transfer agreement between the Grand Towers Plc and its technical partners.

He applauded Grand Towers Plc for using local contractors, architects and engineering firms and advised them to include Nigerian high institutions and professors in related fields in order to promote technical expertise.

Grand Towers Plc has signed a contract of N2.9 billion with the Italian DTV Construction Company for the construction of the Abuja Shopping Mall.
The chairman of grand towers plc, Nze Chidi Duru and Managing Director of DTV, Mr. Piercano Bocciochio, both signed the contract agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at Grand Towers head office, Maitama Abuja.

To ease the shopping burden of residents of the Federal Capital Territory, a Southern African firm, Novare, has gone into partnership with Grand Towers Limited to build a shopping mall in the city.
The $25m project, described by the handlers as a business focused on customers’ needs and behaviours, will be ready by December 2011. The groundbreaking will take place in January.
