Nelson Mandela Bay based tourism group, Mantis Collection, has announced an expansion into West Africa with a landmark multimillion dollar deal signed in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to roll out a chain of Boutique hotels in Nigeria.

Grand Towers to open 12 hotels in Nigeria

The chairman of the Grand Towers Plc, Mr. Nze Chidi Duru announced that the company will open 12 hotels within two years in Nigeria. Grand Towers Abuja Mall located on the Murtala Mohammed Express Way, Gudu District has been designed to incorporate green building principles, which is a first for Nigeria.

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has approved a technology transfer agreement between Grand Tower Abuja Mall PLC and its technical partners. Director-General of NOTAP, Dr. Umar Bindir, gave the approval during a validation visit to the site of the mall preceeding registration of a technology transfer agreement between the Grand Towers Plc and its technical partners.
He applauded Grand Towers Plc for using local contractors, architects and engineering firms and advised them to include Nigerian high institutions and professors in related fields in order to promote technical expertise.

Grand Towers PLC has partnered with Novare in South Africa. A leading specialist emerging markets financial services company, Novare manages the Grand Towers Africa Property Fund. Other partners involved are Broll Nigeria, Group Five, Stanbic IBTC and DTV.

Grand Towers to build Abuja Mall for N3bn

Grand Towers Plc has signed a contract of N2.9 billion with the Italian DTV Construction Company for the construction of the Abuja Shopping Mall.
The chairman of grand towers plc, Nze Chidi Duru and Managing Director of DTV, Mr. Piercano Bocciochio, both signed the contract agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at Grand Towers head office, Maitama Abuja.
Grand Tower plc has earlier declared that the company has so far generated N100b for investment in Nigeria during the facility visit to the site of the Abuja mall recently. “Read more”

Abuja’s shopping landscape is being prepared for the coming of Africa’s leading retail giant Shoprite.
Grand Towers Abuja Mall where Shoprite will be based is being financed by a property consortium with a combined worth of $100 million and Abuja has been selected as its first investment destination in Africa.

To ease the shopping burden of residents of the Federal Capital Territory, a Southern African firm, Novare, has gone into partnership with Grand Towers Limited to build a shopping mall in the city.
The $25m project, described by the handlers as a business focused on customers’ needs and behaviours, will be ready by December 2011. The groundbreaking will take place in January.

FCT Minister, Senator Bala A. Muhammed, has hailed Grand Towers Plc for its Grand Towers Abuja mall's project, which will kick off soon in the capital city.
The minister who was represented by Ibrahim Habu Sule, his senior special assistant on finance and economic matters, noted that the project will tremendously transform the shopping culture of residents in the city as well as reduce poverty and unemployment.
